The Center for the Performing Arts FMH (Technical University of Lisbon) and Quinzena de Dança de Almada are organising an artistic and scientific meeting for the presentation of studies, projects and reflections on the body in the contemporary scene and the community. It is intended to establish a sharing of interdisciplinary space between researchers, professionals and students, with the presentation of studies on the body, the performing arts and their application in the social/cultural everyday life, as well as viewing and analyzing pieces alive and in video. The conference will take place 27-30 September 2012 in Almada, Portugal. Submission for proposals: 30 June 2012.
The participants are invited to submit proposals for communications, discussions, posters, videos or workshops in the following thematic areas:
Body and Aesthetics in the Contemporary Scene
Theatre, Dance and Contemporaneity
Performance and Human corporeity
The Performative Body
Performance and body techniques (traditional, somatic, oriental, alternative, etc.)
Dance and Education
Inclusion and performing arts.
Three official languages: Portuguese, English and Spanish.
Registration at reduced prices: 15 August 2012.
